A school ship "Jadran" on future sailings with reliability of Caterpillar engines

It is an honor and a great pleasure to inform you that Teknoxgroup together with Adriatic Shipyard Bijela, in this very moment, when this article is published, are working on reconstruction of the world famous school ship "Jadran". This ship of historical importance for the Army of Montenegro, and Montenegro in general, will be run not just with the sails but with the help and power of Caterpillar C18 engine. In addition to the main engine C18, the oldest sailing Montenegrin Navy boat will be equipped with three auxiliary Caterpillar generators, two C6.6. and one C4.4. For its 80 years of sailing, this magnificent ship was docked in ports on the coasts of Africa, Asia, and in the distant past, in the year 1938, even in the United States.

With the power of 448 bkW (or 600 bhp) main engine C18 will be a great and reliable support to the three-decker structure, 60 meters long, 8.9 meters wide and 761 tons of a total displacement, which will, immediately after test drive, sail on European and international waters, with cadets of the Naval Academy on the board as well as students of the Faculty of Maritime Studies.

Hoping that it will train many more generations of cadets, we wish it calm seas!
